Plain English summary: You pay a subscription, we make a friendly daily check-in call to you or your chosen loved one and tell you if a call is missed. Cancel anytime. Full refund if you cancel within your first 14 days. It's a wellbeing companion service, not an emergency, medical or care service.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
Wellness Companion is a UK-operated daily check-in call service ("we", "us"). You can contact us at hello.dailycompanion@gmail.com. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the agreement between you and us when you subscribe.
2. The service
Wellness Companion provides a daily AI-powered companion call to a phone number you choose, at a time you choose, plus:
A short summary or alert to your nominated contact after calls, where included in your plan
A missed-call alert to your nominated contact if the call recipient does not answer after our retry attempts
Calls are made by an artificial intelligence companion, and the call recipient is told this. Call days, times and preferences can be changed at any time by emailing us.
3. What the service is NOT
Important: Wellness Companion is not an emergency service, a personal alarm, a telecare service, or a medical or clinical service. It must not be relied upon to detect, prevent or respond to emergencies, falls, medical events or crises. If you or your loved one may need urgent help, always call 999. Our companion does not give medical advice, and nothing said on a call is a substitute for professional medical, health or care advice.
We aim to place every scheduled call, but we cannot guarantee that every call will connect (for example due to network issues or the phone being engaged). Missed-call alerts are a helpful prompt, not a monitored response service.
4. Who can subscribe
You must be 18 or over and a UK resident to subscribe. If you set the service up for someone else (for example a parent), you confirm that:
You have their agreement to receive the daily calls, or are acting appropriately in their best interests
The details you give us about them are accurate
The call recipient can ask us to stop calling at any time, on a call or via you, and we will stop.
5. Price and payment
Prices are shown on the site in pounds sterling at the point of purchase (currently £14.99/month or £149/year for Founding 100 members; standard price £19.99/month)
Payment is taken by card via Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your card number
Subscriptions renew automatically: monthly plans renew each month, annual plans renew each year, charged to your card, until you cancel
We will give you at least 30 days' email notice before any price change takes effect. Founding 100 members' price is locked and will not increase while their subscription remains continuously active (see section 7)
6. Cancellation, cooling-off and refunds
Cancel anytime by emailing hello.dailycompanion@gmail.com with "Cancel" in the subject line, or via the link in any billing email. There is no notice period and no cancellation fee
14-day cooling-off (your legal right): under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you may cancel within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund. By subscribing, you ask us to start the service straight away within this period; if you cancel within the 14 days after calls have started, we may deduct a proportionate amount for calls already made, though in practice our policy is simple: cancel in your first 14 days and we refund you in full
After the first 14 days: monthly plans run to the end of the paid month with no further charge; annual plans, if you cancel mid-year, we will refund the unused full months remaining
Refunds go back to the original payment card, normally within 5-10 working days
7. Founding 100 price promise
Founding 100 membership means the price you subscribe at will not increase while your subscription remains continuously active. If you cancel and later rejoin, the then-current standard price applies. The promise applies to the subscription price only, not to any optional extras we may offer in future.
8. Your responsibilities
Keep your contact details, the call recipient's number and preferred call time up to date
Only provide phone numbers you are entitled to have called
Do not use the service unlawfully, to harass anyone, or for any purpose other than personal wellbeing check-ins
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded under UK law. Subject to that:
We are not liable for losses arising from a call not connecting, a missed-call alert not being acted on, or reliance on the service for emergency or medical purposes (see section 3)
We are not liable for events outside our reasonable control (for example phone network or power failures)
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period
Your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (services to be performed with reasonable care and skill), are not affected.
10. Suspension and ending the service by us
We may suspend or end your subscription if you breach these terms, if payment fails after we have tried to collect it and notified you, or if we withdraw the service. If we withdraw the service or end your subscription other than for breach, we will refund any period you have paid for but not received.
11. Data protection
How we collect and use personal data, including call recordings and transcripts, is set out in our Privacy Policy. In short: we collect only what the service needs, we never sell data, and you can have everything deleted on request.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before it does. The "Last updated" date above always shows the current version.
13. General
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (or Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there)
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies
This agreement is between you and us; no one else has rights under it
14. Complaints
If something isn't right, email hello.dailycompanion@gmail.com and we will respond within 3 working days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may be able to use the EU/UK online dispute resolution routes or seek advice from Citizens Advice.
